Through the “Connecting Families to Meaningful Resources” project, AJE ensures that families of young children (birth – age 5) have access to services and resources to improve overall family functioning and decrease the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. This project specifically serves young families residing in Ward 4 in the District of Columbia.

Services and supports include:

  • Trainings and workshops to increase parental knowledge of child development and parenting practices;
  • Emotional support for young parents to improve social connections;
  • Assistance with navigating Early Intervention services and educational programs; and
  • Referrals and linkages to support young parents with obtaining family preservation supports.
