Supporting Diversity in the Workplace: Creating Accessible and Inclusive Jobs!

Join us at DC’s 2024 Employment First Summit for an enlightening and enriching experience! We’ll empower you with essential skills, valuable resources, networking opportunities, and knowledge to support diversity in the workplace.

The 2024 Employment First Summit welcomes people with disabilities of all ages, family members, service providers, advocates, educators, policy makers, employers, District government staff, and community leaders. Together, we will learn, celebrate successes, and build connections that help both employers and people with disabilities.

This FREE Summit will include:

  • Networking breakfast
  • Resource fair
  • Engaging learning sessions
  • Employment Champions Awards luncheon
  • Door prizes
  • Opportunities to make a difference in your community!

The Employment First Summit is sponsored by the Employment First Planning Committee, which is convened by the DC Developmental Disabilities Council https://ddc.dc.gov/.

This event will be primarily in English, and interpretation will be available in American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, and Amharic. Captions will be provided in English, with AI real-time translation into Spanish and Amharic via a Streamtext link.

We also support and encourage people to attend the Mayor’s Office of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing’s (MODDBHH) Employment Summit the day before, on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the MLK Library. That event will be primarily in ASL. You can indicate your interest in that event on our registration form linked above.
