AJE wants to pass on this invitation from the Supporting Families Community of Practice to our families!
On behalf of the Supporting Families Community of Practice (SF CoP), we would like to invite family caregivers for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities across the lifespan to join us on Friday, January 31st from 10a.m.-2p.m. at the Department on Disability Services (250 E St SW, Washington DC) for a dialog with DC caregivers and government agency leaders followed by a caregiver resource fair. The agenda summary is in the flyer attached.
We will be using a world café inspired small group structure for dialogue between agency leaders and DC caregivers. This will help us to explore different perspectives and ideas about access to available resources, what is working for DC families, challenges for DC families and opportunities to improve supports for caregivers.
The SF CoP will put together a summary of the discussion to share with both caregivers and agency participants. We will also use your input to plan future caregiver outreach events and capacity-building efforts for our partners through the SF CoP.
We hope you can join us for the full event, but we would love to have your participation for any part that works for you and your family. Lunch will be provided. Register here to join. Please share with other DC caregivers who may be interested in participating.
