AJE wants families to know that DC’s policy regarding school exclusion for failure to vaccinate (or request an exemption) changed in 2023-24.  Remaining compliant with vaccinations is still required in all grades. However, starting in the 2023–24 school year, students who are not compliant with immunization requirements will only be excluded from school if they are in one of these four grades:

• PreK3
• Kindergarten
• 7^th Grade
• 11^th Grade
