AJE’s mission is to empower families, youth, and the community to be effective advocates to ensure that children and youth – particularly those with disabilities – receive access to appropriate education and health services.
As part of that mission, AJE is providing a free virtual leadership development and advocacy skills training focused on Special Education, School Discipline, and School Governance with a particular focus on the needs of students with disabilities and special health care needs. The Parent Leadership Academy is limited to 30 DC parents/caregivers – we encourage you to apply immediately to ensure you can participate!
The 2023 Parent Leadership Academy will be held online Thursday evenings between September 7th and December 7th. No session will be held on November 23rd. The exact dates and more information are available here, where you can also apply!
