AJE is happy to share this update about the Smithsonian with our families – and we hope you find it helpful!
The Smithsonian is still determining reopening dates for the museums. As soon as we have the dates, we’ll send them to you. In addition, we’ll be hosting a few virtual events later this summer (more details to come!).
In the meantime, the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) has a new website and wanted us to share with MATM families. “My Flight, My Space” is an interactive portal that was designed in collaboration with an innovative new partner, Infiniteach, whose mission is, “technology to empower neurodiversity”. My Flight, My Space is designed to make discovery learning on the Air & Space Museum website accessible to all. The interactive portal allows users to customize their learning journey. The can choose different topics and activities (e.g., games, videos, lessons, etc.).
The platform was designed, specifically, with the learning styles of our neurodiverse visitors with autism and other learning disabilities in mind and offers a way for visitors to stay connected with the museum while we remain closed to the public. NASM and Infiniteach are hoping that some of you will explore the site and provide feedback via a Google Form Survey (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXyj7vDEVGCZsv0lVhHGuGaQ5kbn8jVU2pc0PtrBq6-zIxzg/viewform). The team at NASM is dedicated to making sure this experience is accessible and inclusive for all, but especially for our MATM families. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
