The Police Reform Commission’s Police in Schools/Policing Youth Committee is hosting a town hall on February 24, 2021 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm EST.
The Commission was created by an act of Council (Act 23-336) to make recommendations on police reform to the Council and the Mayor by April 1, 2021. The Police in Schools/Policing Youth Committee is specifically charged with addressing issues around police and security in schools, police interactions with youth in the community, and youth safety. They would love to hear thoughts and ideas from youth, parents, educators, and administrators on these topics. Witnesses will have 3 minutes to provide oral testimony. If you have any questions, they are available via e-mail at commission@dcpolicereform.com. For more information about the Commission, their website is https://dcpolicereform.com/.
