We at AJE know that trauma-informed schools help students succeed and that school-based mental health services and supports are important for all students, but especially so for those with disabilities. That is why we are supporting the #DoMoreWith54 budget campaign with other members of the Every Student Every Day coalition and PAVE. There is a #DoMoreWith54 event coming up Thursday, March 21st from 9:30am-10:30am in Room 104 of the Wilson Building.
We are especially excited to share that a DC student from Black Swan Academy is confirmed to speak on Thursday morning and hope that other students and parents will be able to participate. After the event, attendees will have a chance to engage with various Councilmembers’ offices to promote the campaign. Below is the link to the EventBrite page for the event.

In addition to the event, individual signatures are needed for the mental health supports petition. If you have not signed the petition, please consider signing and asking others to sign. Policymakers need to know that trauma-informed, school-based mental health supports & services matter to DC families!
Please also share the mental health supports petition and #DoMoreWith54 event on social media, using the hashtag #DoMoreWith54 and tagging @AJEinc, @dcPAVE and other organizations you are connected with, as well as members of the Council.
